Dublin, Ireland — One-to-one coaching

Anxiety doesn't
have to run
the whole day.

I'm David Yaffe, a trained life coach in Dublin working one-to-one with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or on edge. Practical conversations that get underneath the patterns — and change what happens next.

Most people who contact me aren't in crisis. They're functioning — and quietly exhausted by how much effort it takes.

01 — If this sounds familiar

It isn't that you lack willpower. It's that the pattern keeps winning.

  • 01You replay conversations for hours after they've ended.
  • 02You say yes when everything in you wants to say no.
  • 03You're capable at work, and still convinced you're behind.
  • 04You've started avoiding the things that used to be ordinary.
  • 05You're tired in a way sleep doesn't fix.

Anxiety is rarely random. It follows patterns of thought and behaviour that were learned somewhere and repeated until they felt like personality. Patterns can be understood, and once understood, they can be worked with.

02 — Ways we can work

Everything starts with a conversation, not a programme.

Sessions are one-to-one, in Dublin or online, and shaped around where you actually are — not a fixed curriculum.

03 — The approach

A structured way through, held in a calm conversation.

  1. I

    Understand

We start with the full picture: what's happening, when it happens, and what it costs you. No assumptions, no template diagnosis.

  2. II

    Identify

We name the specific thoughts and behaviours keeping the cycle in place — the ones that feel like facts until you look at them directly.

  3. III

    Work differently

Practical, tested changes you try between sessions. Small, deliberate, and reviewed honestly rather than repeated blindly.

  4. IV

    Build confidence

As the evidence stacks up, so does self-trust. The goal isn't managing anxiety forever — it's needing to manage it far less.

Soft sculptural forms in bone and olive tones
“You don't need to arrive with the problem already solved. Bring it half-formed — that's what the first conversation is for.”
04 — What changes

Not a different person. A less exhausting version of your own life.

Steadier confidence

Less rehearsing, more speaking. Rooms feel smaller than they used to.

Clarity on what matters

Decisions stop looping and start closing.

Less avoidance

The list of things you quietly dodge gets shorter.

More control

You notice the pattern early enough to do something about it.

Self-understanding

You can explain your own reactions instead of fearing them.

Real momentum

Progress you can point to, not just feel occasionally.

05 — About

I'm David. I coach people through the things they don't say out loud.

I'm a trained life coach based in Dublin, working one-to-one with adults — and sometimes younger clients — who are dealing with anxiety, low confidence, or a sense that they've stalled.

My approach is practical and direct rather than abstract. We look at what's actually happening in your week, find the patterns underneath it, and test small changes until something shifts. I'll ask honest questions, and I won't pretend change is easy — but I will make sure you're never working on it alone.

Sessions are calm, confidential and free of judgement. You don't need the right words or a tidy explanation before you get in touch.

06 — In their words
I came in able to describe the symptoms but not the cause. Within a few sessions I could see the pattern clearly — and for the first time it felt workable.

David is calm and very direct. No jargon, no drama. He asked the questions nobody else had thought to ask.

I stopped rehearsing every conversation before I had it. That alone gave me hours of my week back.

08 — Questions

The things people ask before they call.

Still unsure? Ask directly — +353 87 136 5934.

You send a short message or call. We arrange a free 30-minute conversation at a time that suits you, in person in Dublin or by video. You talk, I listen and ask a few questions, and by the end you'll have a clear sense of whether working together makes sense.

Regular private sessions of around an hour. We look at what's happening, identify the patterns behind it, and agree small practical changes to test between sessions. It's structured, but the conversation stays led by what you bring on the day.

No. Most people arrive with a feeling rather than a diagnosis — stuck, tense, flat, unsure. Getting clear on the actual problem is part of the work, not a prerequisite for starting it.

Anxiety tends to be maintained by specific thoughts and behaviours: avoidance, over-preparation, rumination, seeking reassurance. Once we can see those clearly, we can interrupt them deliberately and build evidence that things go better than your mind predicts.

The first conversation is free. Session and package fees are confirmed with you before anything starts, so there are no surprises. Pricing details can be discussed by phone or email.

Coaching suits people who want practical forward movement. If what you're dealing with would be better served by clinical or medical support, I'll say so honestly and point you in a more appropriate direction.

09 — Get in touch

You don't need it all figured out to start talking.

Send a message or call. The first conversation is free, private, and there's no expectation to commit to anything afterwards.
